Meet Our Staff

Nathan Heller, Senior Pastor

Nathan is our Senior Pastor at the church and became the newest member of our staff at Superstition Foothills upon his arrival on January, 2012. Bro. Nathan grew up in a Southern Baptist, Christian home and accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior at the age of nine.  He married his wife, Sharon, shortly after High School and they have been married for 34 years.
For twenty-three years he worked for a local utility company and during that time, he felt God's call into ministry.  Throughout his secular occupation, the Lord led Nathan to serve in many areas of the local church, such as Sunday School teacher, Children and Youth ministries, a new church start and much more!  He saw this time as a time of preparation for future ministry. Over the years, God provided many opportunities for him to preach and teach and, finally, in 1998 Nathan accepted God's call and was licensed into the gospel ministry of Jesus Christ. After his ordination in 2001 he entered into the ministry full time.
Pastor Heller received his Bachelor's Degree in Christian Education in May 2007 and desires  to continue his education toward a Master of Theology Degree in the future.  He feels this will set example to lay people serving as teachers and in leadership positions to continue to improve themselves as well as an opportunity for him to be spiritually fed.
Nathan and his wife, Sharon, have two grown children, Stephanie and Matthew, and three grandchildren, Tyler, Ezra and Macy.

Doug Stevens, Worship Pastor

Doug has been Worship Pastor at Superstition Foothills since November 2009. Since his calling as a young teenage boy in high school, Doug found great joy leading music and serving churches across his home state as well as Shawnee, Oklahoma where he earned his Bachelor of Music degree. Doug was licensed and ordained into the gospel ministry at First Baptist Church in Hurst, Texas on September 2, 1984.
After graduating from Southwestern Theological Seminary in 1984 with his Master of Music degree, Doug served churches as Minister of Worship and Associate Pastor in Music in Texas, Alabama and Georgia. Although born and raised in the “Valley of the Sun,” Doug has spent all of his adult life serving and living in the South and is now delighted to be back home. Over the years, Doug has served in various other capacities such as Associational Music Director, Guest Music Adjudicator for Church Choral Festivals as well as Music Mission Team Coordinator to Brazil.
Doug has been married to his wife, Janie, for almost 30 years. They have two beautiful children, Stefanie, 25 years old, and Stan, 19 years old. Doug is excited about the work at Superstition Foothills and invites you to come and experience the wonderful Praise and Worship of our Lord.
